I am a Lecturer in the department of Language and Literature Teaching at the University of Granada. My research interests focus on poetry and education through fine arts and literature. I have widely published on 19th century narrative and contemporary poetry in journals such as Bulletin Hispanique, Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos, Ínsula and Hispania, and have edited a good number of books on literature and education, such as La construcción de la identidad pedagógica española: entre la Institución Libre de Enseñanza y las Escuelas del Ave María (Síntesis, 2015) and El canon abierto. Última poesía en español (Visor, 2015). At present, I am vice president of the Spanish Association of Writers (ACE) and Secretary of the Andalusian Association of Writers and Literary Critics, as well as member of the Royal Academy of Science, Fine Arts and Noble Arts (Córdoba, Spain). I have been visiting scholar in the London Institute of Education, the University of Bologna, La Sapienza, the University of Padua, Emory and the University of West Florida, where I have taught and delivered conferences on Spanish poetry and poetry in the education of teachers.
